La Corda D'Oro ~Primo Passo~

La Corda D’Oro ~primo passo~ - Episode Twenty

This episode of La Corda d’oro deals with the concours group (minus Hino) of the news that Yunoki from the final selection to study in England, and that Hino has given up the violin. As Shimizu is characterized as cute, kind person, I thought that the scene where he played his cello in front of Hino. As Hino is dealing with her feelings and troubles in this episode, I liked the scenes of where each male concours think about their feelings about their various issue, because it’s something everyone can relate to.

I thought that ending of this episode was nicely handled, especially how Lilli explains that Corda is the Italian name for strings, and how it relates to this series, and title.

La Corda D’Oro ~primo passo~ - Episode Nineteen

This episode of La Corda d’Oro ~Primo Passo~ starts of with Hino caving into the pressure and expectation that is placed on her, as she wants to fall out from the school concours. I thought it was interesting to see Hino try to convince Yunoki not to drop out of the concours, when she wants to do this also. Despite Yunoki leaving the school in this episode, I thought that the scene where he was hearing Hihara’s trumpet was a nice little touch, as the pair have a strong relationship with one another.

As Kanazawa-sensei has had little screen time in this series, I liked how this episode showed a little about his past, when he was talking to Hino in this episode. As Hino has feelings about not playing the violin, Tsukimori also struggled with not playing the violin also, as when he was younger, despite giving a cold, stern front to people that interact with him.

La Corda D’Oro ~primo passo~ - Episode Eightteen

After Hino breaks her violin strings from the previous episode, the judges and announcer quickly decided to move the third selection along, as Yunoki is quickly called to play his piece. The results from the third selection can be seen below:

1.Yunoki Azuma
2.Tsukimori Len
3.Tsuchiura Ryoutarou
4.Fuyuumi Shouko
5.Shimizu Keiichi
6.Hihara Kazuki
7.Hino Kahoko
As Hino as been feeling gloomy over the previous couple of episodes, it was quite interesting from Lilli to say that the magic violin reflects her feelings in her heart. As Yunoki has had an episode dealing with his finance problems, it was interesting to see Yunoki as a child playing the piano well, but told by his mother to take up another musical instrument, to support their family, when it’s Yunoki’s turn to support his family.

I for one would have liked to see Yuniko interact with his elder brothers, but this episode doesn’t head off in this direction. As Yuniko’s life has been ruled by his Obaasama, his Obaasama decides to send Yuniko off to university somewhere in England, to continue Yuniko’s education. To ease Yuniko’s transition to university in England, his Obaasama has already enrolled Yuniko into a high school for a semester.

After this episode deals with Yuniko’s domestic problem’s, I like how this episode deals with the realistic little problems that the some of the other performers have with being involved in the concours.

Episode Rating: B+

La Corda D’Oro ~primo passo~ - Episode Seventeen

This episode of La Corda d’Oro ~Primo Passo~ avoiding Tsukimori for a week, due to the previous encounter in the previous episode. If you’re a Hino X Shimizu fan then you will enjoy the scene of Shimizu taking one of his naps on Hino’s lap. As Tsukimori and
Tsuchiura haven’t eye on to in this series, I thought that the scene where Tsuchiura is concerned about Hino’s gloomy mood, revealed that Tsukimori and Tsuchiura are concerned about Hino.

As the buildup for the third selection has been a bit long IMO, the second half of this episode finally reveals the characters performances. First up is Hihara performing a Schubert composition, called “Serenade”. Shimizu is the second performer, and is performing a Faure composition, called “Sicilienne”. Up third is Fuyuumi. Fourth up is Tsukimori, and performs quite well. Fifth up is Tsuhiura. As Hino is the sixth performer for the third selection, her performance turns ugly as her violin strings breaks, as Hino tries to push the violin to its limits.

As Tsukimori, Hihara and Tsuhiura seem to have some feelings for Hino; I for one would like them to reveal these feelings instead of just covering it up, as it would be boring if this continued for the remainder of the series.

Overall I felt that this episode was rather average, as there was nothing really special or interesting, but hopefully the future episodes will be more interesting.

La Corda D’Oro ~primo passo~ - Episode Sixteen

This episode of La Corda d’Oro ~Primo Passo~ deals with some Hino, Tsukimori, Shimizu and Ousaki Shinobu’s (the OB) performing in front on some kids. The piece that Hino, Tsukimori, Shimizu and Ousaki play in front of the kids is “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik”. Hino If you’re a Hihara X Hino fan, you’ll see Hihara all happy about getting that band aid from Hino, and Hihara get red, when Hino tries to help Hihara get the correct posture to play the violin.

In this episode we also get to see more of Kanamoto-sensi’s cat, as Kanamoto-sensi tries to get his cat to guess the order of the 3rd selection. Hino in this episode comes to a big realization, as he tries to play a normal; violin, and Tsukimori hears Hino’s bad playing, with a normal violin.

After Hino runs away from Tsukimori from her about her bad playing, Hino runs away from Tsukimori. The next day, Hino again tries to play a normal violin, but while playing Tsukimori interrupts Hino, and yet again questions her attitude toward music, which upsets Hino, because she can’t answer Tsukimori’s question.

La Corda D’Oro ~primo passo~ - Episode Fifteen

As the previous episode of La Corda d’Oro ~Primo Passo~ focused on Yukino, this episode focuses on Tsuchiura and Hihara. The first half of this episode focused on Hino’s school life, with her interacting with her girl friends (Mori-san and Amou-san). I thought that the conversation that the trio has about what type of boy from Hino’s musical harem suits themselves. I thought that the scenes that the trio or duo think up, where interesting and funny.

The second half of this episode focuses on Hihara and Tsuchiura. Also the second half of this episode focuses a little on Tsuchiura’s ex-girlfriend, Sakimoto Mizue. I found Sakimoto Mizue to be quite mature person, despite her not currently being in a relationship with Tsuchiura, at the present moment.

If you’re a Hihara fan, we learn that Hihara has an elder brother (Haruki). Also if you’re a fan of the pairing Hihara X Hino, you’ll enjoy the the scene of Hino applying a band aid to Hihara. As the past couple of episodes have focused on the relationships of some of Hino’s harem, it looks like the next will bring things back on track, about the third selection.

La Corda D’Oro ~primo passo~ - Episode Fourteen

As the last episode of La Corda d’Oro ~Primo Passo~ ended with Yunoki calling Hino by her first name, Hino is abducted by Yunoki to pretend to be his preferred candidate, to be his finance. Hino goes along with Yuniko’s plan to get Ayano to stop chasing him, so Yunoki get Hino to help him out, with Hino likes it or not. As Hino is on guard in this episode, there’s lot’s of blushing by Hino in this episode.

As this is a Yunoki Azuma centric episode, we get to learn something interesting things about Yuniko in this episode, while also meeting his younger sister (Miyabi). It’s good to see that Ayano isn’t the stereotypical perfect fiancé candidate, as despite her being the daughter of a company director, and being good looking, and also good at schooling, the weakness that Ayano possesses is that she is terribly good at getting the wrong impression of people.

This episode was also interesting, as it was good to see the various sides that Yunoki has. I thought that the episode ended quietly interestingly, with Tsuchiura’s ex-girl friend meeting Hino, Tsukimori and Tsuchiura. Tsuchiura’s ex-girl friend makes Hino blush, as she mentions if she is Tsuchiura’s current girl friend. After Hino denies this claim, she asks if she’s Tsukimori’s girl friend.

La Corda D’Oro ~primo passo~ - Episode Thirteen

As the previous episode had Hino feeling down for most of it, Hino is feeling better after she realizes to get over her result in the second section. As it’s near exam time at Hino’s school, Lili decides to take away Hino’s violin, as this will force her to concentrate on her studies. The real reason why Lili took the violin away from Hino, is because she is playing the violin currently coldheartedly.

Hino is currently having a little trouble adjusting to her previous life before Lili came into her life, and while talking to Hihara in this episode, we lean how he became interested in playing the trumpet.

I thought that the scene where Hino’s friends teaser her about being close with Tsuchiura, was typically teasing by friends.

This episode reveals that the theme for the third selection which will be the theme of Irreplaceable Thing. The Tsuchiura and Tsukimori rivalry continues in this episode, with the two having opposite views about writing their initials on their belongings. Hino in this episode managers to spend some time with Shimizu in this episode, at the History of Stringed Instruments exhibition, after giving an envelope to her sister.

Lastly if you’re a Yunoki X Hino fan, you’ll enjoy the last scenes in this episode, as Yunoki flirts with Hino (really is teasing her). Despite this episode mainly being more of Hino interacting in her school environment, the situations that she was in were still interesting to watch.

La Corda D’Oro ~primo passo~ - Episode Twelve

In you’re a Hino X Yuniko fan, you will enjoy the first several minutes of his episode, as Yuniko flirts with Hino, while also being slightly dangerous about asking Hino to quitting the concurs. As Hino is a bit depressed by Yuniko’s actions, Kanazawa notices Hino’s mood, but Ousaki Shinobu tries to help Hino out in this episode.

Ousaki Shinobu’s is the school’s OB (older boy) that helps out in the Orchestra Club. Hino is depressed in this episode, when Hino feels she isn’t trying her best and that she can’t comment on Mai (a student in the orchestra) violin playing, when Mai asks for an opinion on her violin playing.

When Hino, Hihara and Yunoki are at the classroom with the orchestra students, it was good to see some realistic behaviour by the female members of the orchestra, as they asked if Hino was dating Tsuchiura. Also I thought that the other super-deformed moments in this episode where also good.

La Corda D’Oro ~primo passo~ - Episode Eleven

This episode starts off with the evening following the second selection, with Hino, and Fuyuumi going over to Amou’s house, and having a small all girl celebration. Before school starts again for the musical student’s there a cute Shimizu scene for all the Shimizu fans out there. I really liked the sequence where we got to see all the outfits that Shimizu tried on before, selecting his outfit for the second selection. The result of the second selection is as follows:

1st Place: Tsuchiura Ryoutarou ‘Fantasie-Impromptu’
2nd Place: Hino Kahoko ‘Canon’
3rd Place: Hihara Kazuki ‘Auf Flugen des Gesanges’
4th Place: Yunoki Azuma ‘Medidation from Thasis’
5th Place: Shimizu Keiichi ‘Le Cygne’
6th Place: Fuyuumi Shouko ‘Romance’
7th Place: Tsukimori Len ‘Chaconne’

In this episode we get to see Tsuchiura talk with Shimizu, and among the two talking to each other, Tsuchiura thinks talking to Shimizu is like talking to an alien. This conversation happens when Hino is sleeping cutely on a table.

After Hino wakes up, she talks with Hihara, and he is depressed because he can’t think of a present to give his big brother. Just as Hihara and Hino walk out the school grounds, they meet up with Yunoki, and the three decided all together to shop for Hihara’s elder brother’s present. There’s lots of antics and cuteness while the three shop for Hihara’s present for his elder brother.

While shopping we learn that Yunoki has a younger sister (named Miyabi), and Hino learns how Hihara and Yunoki meets each other. If you’re a Yunoki x Hino fan, you’ll enjoy the last few minutes of this episode.

This episode of La Corda d’Oro ~Primo Passo~ seemed to be an episode about the relationships between the cast members, and learning a bit more about the family’s of the cast members also.
